1. Quan Com Hue Ngon

Quan Com Hue Ngon offers an array of authentic Vietnamese BBQ dishes at affordable prices. A five-minute walk from Da Nang Cathedral, the fuss-free restaurant is fitted with minimal décor, low wooden furnishing, and ceiling fans, but the service here is very fast and friendly. Highly recommended dishes at Quan Com Hue Ngon include the barbecued octopus (VND 49,000), squid in stone (VND 59,000), and barbecue pork (VND 49,000), all of which are served with a generous platter of fresh lettuce and dipping sauces. A small stove is set next to the table, where you can grill your choice of meat or seafood according to your preference.
2. Mi Quang Ba Mua

Mi Quang Ba Mua is arguably the best place to enjoy Da Nang’s quintessential noodle dish. A bowl of mi quang is priced at VND 25,000, consisting of turmeric-yellow rice noodles and bone broth that’s seasoned with fish sauce, black pepper, shallots, and garlic. You can also choose from a variety of meat toppings, such as beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, frogs, and eels. Lastly, the ensemble is topped with basil, peanuts, coriander, sliced banana flowers, and sesame rice crackers. Due to Mi Quang Ba Mua’s growing popularity amongst foreign travellers, an English menu is provided.
3. Banh Xeo Ba Duong

Banh Xeo Ba Duong is located within a narrow alleyway on Hoang Dieu Street, where you can enjoy traditional banh xeo. Once you get a table here, you’re immediately served with a platter of savoury Vietnamese pancakes filled with pork, beef, chicken or prawns, and beansprouts.Banh Xeo Ba Duong is also renowned for its nem lui or grilled pork with lemongrass skewers. Eat like the locals by wrapping the banh xeo, nem lui, mint leaves, and basil in the rice papers before dipping it in the sauce.
4. Bun Cha Ca 109

Bun Cha Ca 109 has been serving authentic fishcake noodle soup to local residents for almost 50 years. The family-run eatery is located along Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, featuring a simple setup of plastic stools, low tables and ceiling fans. Priced at VND 25,000, a bowl of bun cha ca comprises generous chunks of grilled fishcakes (with black pepper), green onions, beansprouts, bamboo shoots, mint leaves, and fine rice vermicelli noodles. As with most local restaurants in Da Nang, a platter of fresh lettuce, beansprouts, limes, pickled shallots, and fish dipping sauce are served on the side.
5. Com Nieu Nha Do

Com Nieu Nha Do’s speciality is the lemongrass-flavoured rice served in a claypot that can be paired with a variety of side dishes. A ten-minute walk from Da Nang International Airport, the restaurant is popular for family dinners as portions are meant to be shared between three people or more. Priced at VND 100,000 onwards, highly recommended dishes at Com Nieu Nha Do include braised fish, eggplants with shrimp paste, stir-fried beef slices, and BBQ chicken with honey.
